Nepes EM Division’s in-house volunteer group, “Nanumi,” received the “Best Mentor-Mentee Couple Award” in the 2025 Growth Mentoring Program for Children from Families with Disabilities, jointly organized by the Korean Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities and other partners. The award ceremony took place on November 24 at the Eumseong County Welfare Center for the Disabled during the program’s closing event. Out of a large-scale national sharing project involving 15 provinces and 29 partner organizations, only 13 teams were selected for this honor, with Nepes EM Division employee Kwon Na-young earning the distinction.
The Growth Mentoring Program for Children from Families with Disabilities is a social value initiative led by the Korean Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Korea Post, and the Korea Post Public Foundation. It pairs children from families with disabilities with adult mentors in a one-on-one relationship to support holistic development in areas such as emotional well-being, learning, social skills, career planning, and independence. The program is highly regarded for going beyond academic support to provide meaningful emotional care that instills hope and self-esteem in children.
Nepes EM Division formally joined the mentoring program for the first time this year after signing a social value partnership agreement with the Eumseong County Welfare Center for the Disabled in March. Two employees, Kwon Na-young and Heo Yoon-seok, represented the division as mentors, actively supporting the growth of children from families with disabilities.
Despite being a first-time participant, Kwon Na-young demonstrated exceptional dedication through emotional engagement with her mentee, guidance on improving daily habits, and accompanying the child on cultural experiences. Her efforts led to noticeable positive changes in the child’s development, earning her the Best Mentor-Mentee Couple Award.
Kwon Na-young shared her thoughts:
“Mentoring required a lot of personal time, but seeing the child regain their smile and open their heart made it truly rewarding. I hope to continue participating and help spread the culture of sharing.”
Founded in 2006, Nepes’ volunteer club “Nanumi” has been a cornerstone of the company’s social contribution efforts for 19 years, focusing on welfare, education, culture, and environmental initiatives in the Eumseong campus region. Nanumi has established itself as the flagship volunteer brand of the EM Division, consistently delivering impactful community engagement.
Bang Ji-hyun, President of Nanumi, stated:
“This award is a testament to the heartfelt efforts and dedication of Nepes EM employees. We will continue to share hope with the community and actively practice social values as a company that grows together with society.”
